March 23 2010 – Cape Cod’s flagship industrial wind turbine begins operation. Complaints from the surrounding neighbors begin immediately.
Nov 14 2019 – The turbine project Death Knell. Town Meeting funds $2.3 million to dismantle and remove the long idled town turbines.
There has been much written about the town’s turbulence. Spanning the past decade many notable headlines capture the wind worn history. NIMBYs, Turbines Too Close, Turbine Blowback, Green New Deal, Government’s Wind Spin.
An exhaustive list to be sure! Between the Cape Cod Times and Falmouth Enterprise, the two local news periodicals canvassed the wind shear with over 350 articles. I, myself have submitted hundreds of letters to the editors.
