I looked at the Australian Live Generation data yesterday, regarding the Tesla nonsense.

Wind power is running at a measly 3%.

It is still early morning down under, (and I am off to bed!), but solar is still only up to 6% at the moment. It will no doubt rise during the morning, but will still surely be virtually irrelevant.

Even the renewable wonderland of South Australia is mainly dependent on natural gas.

  1. It won’t at help all. SA relies on (brown coal fired) electricity from Victoria when the local temperatures get hot. Demand (for air conditioning) soars. Unfortunately the Premier of Vic. (Dopey Dan) followed the lead of SA Premier (WeatherDILL) and forced the closure of their largest, if oldest power station.
Result will be shortages in Vic. and blackouts in SA. Nothing the Premier of SA can say will save him in the March election. He will have to rely on Global Cooling!
