FALMOUTH’S WIND DEBACLE – IS IT REALLY OVER?

Today’s Cape Cod Times article (‘Falmouth ruling bolsters cause for neighbors of Plymouth turbines’ http://www.capecodtimes.com/news/20170715/falmouth-ruling-bolsters-cause-for-neighbors-of-plymouth-turbines) cites the rousing effect Judge Moriarty’s decision has made in Bourne and Plymouth.  The Court’s determination might even have a more far reaching effect in the Commonwealth. It’s been a long time coming but the Court’s affirmation of Falmouth’s Municipal Wind Project mistake has been admitted by town hall leaders and it’s almost certain the town’s turbines won’t spin again. Falmouth’s wind debacle is over!

BUT WAIT. What about the Notus-Clean-Energy turbine (Webb) in Falmouth’s Technology Park? In late 2010 a group of 30 residents filed a noise complaint over the Notus Clean Energy wind turbine citing “an undue interference with the use and enjoyment of the nearby residential properties.” That language is pulled directly from the special permit issued by the board of appeals in 2008, which allowed the construction of the…
